'The Amazing Spiderman' Unleashes New Action-Packed Clips
Movie

Spidey is seen having an encounter with The Lizard in a culvert in one snippet, and making fun of a cowardly carjacker in another.

AceShowbiz - As it gets closer to the U.S. release date of "The Amazing Spider-Man", a series of brand new clips for the movie have been debuted online. One of them focuses on the "Drainage" scene, where Spidey arranges his web in a culvert. Suddenly, a number of tiny lizards come and approach him before The Lizard shows himself.

Another snippet features the "Carjacker" scene where the masked vigilante makes fun of a car thief who thinks he's a cop. There are two other clips that give a longer look at the action scenes where The Lizard wreaks havoc on a bridge and the titular superhero must save a boy who is trapped in a nearly falling car.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" tells "the untold story" of Peter Parker. Like most teenagers his age, he is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. In his journey to put the pieces of his past together, he uncovers a secret that his father held. The secret will ultimately shape his destiny as Spider-Man.

Andrew Garfield stars as the fan-favorite Marvel superhero, with Rhys Ifans playing his archenemy The Lizard. Serving behind the lens is Marc Webb, while James Vanderbilt provides the screenplay. The movie will be dropped in cinemas nationwide on July 3.

Discussing his character with Digital Spy, Garfield recently dished, "The abandonment of his father and mother leads him to becoming who he is meant to become. When Peter first designs the suit he's not going out to fight crime, he's not going out to protect innocents, he's going out to cause havoc and act out of revenge because of his uncle's death. He allows that desire for revenge to get the better of him."

"What I find so wonderful about this character is that everyone feels like him and can identify with him. Once he receives the power that he always felt belonged to him he finds himself doing good with it."
