Carrie Underwood Voices Her Support on Same-Sex Marriage

Although she has a large Christian fanbase, the 'Jesus Take the Wheel' crooner believes God wants everybody to love others.

AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood is being supportive to the LGBT community, sending her message in an interview that equality should be imposed on. "As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," the singer said.

Underwood is married to hockey player Mike Fisher. She told The Independent further, "I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."

Having a large Evangelical Christian portion in her fanbase, Underwood insists that her faith and the values in Christianity are the driving force of her same-sex support. "Our church is gay friendly," she said. "Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me'. No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody."

Underwood has just released a new album titled "Blown Away".
