AceShowbiz - One of the performers for the upcoming Olympic Games in London has been revealed. Sir Paul McCartney confirmed his scheduled performance at the opening ceremony of the summer games.
Mecca said during a recent interview with BBC Radio Station 5 Live that he's "been booked." The former member of The Beatles spilled he would be "closing the opening."
Dubbed "The Isles of Wonder", the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics will be held on July 27. Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle, the man behind critically acclaimed "Slumdog Millionaire", will serve as an artistic director. Other musical guests are still kept under tight wraps.
The games will run until August 27, while its torch relay has started since May 19. Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am took part in the relay by carrying the flame to Somerset town center in Taunton, London.
