AceShowbiz - British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) have named its winners for the 58th annual Arquiva British Academy Television Awards. On Sunday, May 27, it was unraveled during a ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London that "Appropriate Adult" collected the most kudos of the night.

The ITV drama secured the top prize for leading actor Dominic West and leading actress Emily Watson for their role of Fred West and Janet Leach. In his acceptance speech, West thanked his family "who brought me back into the light after playing the role." The series also nabbed its third win through Monica Dolan who was hailed best supporting actress.

Other winners from the performer categories included Andrew Scott, Jennifer Saunders and Darren Boyd. Scott won best supporting actor award for his role as Jim Moriarty on "Sherlock", while Saunders and Boyd nailed the kudo for female and male performance in a comedy program.

Hosted by comedian Dara O'Briain, the prestigious awards also saw "Coronation Street" stealing Soap and Continuing Drama Award title from last year's winner "EastEnders". Moreover, U.S. series "Modern Family" failed to bring home the international series kudo as it has to admit defeat to Danish political drama, "Borgen".
