Saying that he's truly in love with his 24-year-old fiancee, the founder of The Allman Brothers Band claims, 'She's becoming wife number one.'

AceShowbiz - Gregg Allman proves that love is ageless. During a series of interviews on TV shows including "Piers Morgan Tonight", the founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, who once got married to Cher, confirms that he has got engaged to Shannon Williams, a woman 40 years his junior.

The 64-year-old country/blues musician, who has tied the knot and got divorced six times before, says that the impending wedding feels like his first real one. "That's not what she's becoming. She's becoming wife number one," he tells Piers Morgan. "I don't have a wife. Haven't had one for years. .. This time, I am really in love."

In a chat with Gayle King on "CBS This Morning", he additionally gushes, "This is my first wife. ... It's just - it's altogether different. I'm sober. I don't know, there, for a while, I thought, 'Man, it's definitely you. It's got to be you.' But - well, there's a few things I could tell you, but they're just too private."

In a memoir titled "My Cross to Bear", Allman opens up about his private life, including his love life and how he's initially reluctant to get married again after several failed relationships. The music veteran has released the book since May 1. In the meantime, he hasn't decided when he's going to walk down the aisle with his 24-year-old fiancee.
