May 25, 2012 (6:23 pm) GMT
In response to local authorities' request to tone down her performance, GaGa's manager insisted that the singer does not go up the stage nude and deliberately provocative.

Two contradicting statements came from 's camp and Indonesian authorities. While Jakarta police spokesman Rikwanto said that GaGa would tone down her performance to abide to the custom and rules in Indonesia, GaGa's manager Troy Carter said they will perform the show "as it is".

The June 3 concert has drwan a lot protests from Islamic groups who deem the singer promoting promiscuity and homosexuality. Promoter Big Daddy reportedly has sent the Jakarta police a document stating GaGa would wear "more appropriate clothes and change some of her lyrics and dance moves in a way that will be acceptable in Indonesia".

This was denied by Carter during the annual Music Matters conference in Singapore on Thursday, May 24. "We play the show as it is, it's a very specific show to a very specific audience," Carter said, as quoted by Singapore's Straits Times newspaper. "Truth be told, she's not up there nude, she's not doing anything provocative for the sake of being provocative."

Troy confirmed that he was still in negotiations with Indonesian police to get the permit for the show. He still cannot make sure that the concert will take place as scheduled.

GaGa herself had tweeted about the controversy, "The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremists separately are threatening violence. ...If the show goes on as scheduled, I will perform the BTWB alone."
