Diana DeGarmo's Engagement Ring From Ace Young Revealed

Designed by David Webb with the help from Young, the sparkler has a 1-carat yellow center stone with two side diamonds.

AceShowbiz - The fancy ring presented by Ace Young to his girlfriend Diana DeGarmo has been unveiled, a day after the couple got engaged on a live television. It's a David Webb 18-karat yellow gold, platinum and diamond sparkler that features a 1-carat yellow center stone and boasts two side diamonds weighing .2 carats.

Young helped with the design based on the hint dropped by DeGarmo. "A month ago, she said, 'Gold needs to come back'," he told PEOPLE. "I was like, 'I agree,' so mental note. Her favorite thing is a sunflower and she loves yellow, so one of our dear friends [helped me] put together a ring that has a yellow diamond, a gold band and two smaller diamonds on the side that are clear, so it's like a sunflower."

Young got down on one knee and popped the question to DeGarmo during the Wednesday, May 23 finale of "American Idol". After the show, he took to Twitter to share his joy with his Twitter followers, "MY GIRL SAID YESSSSSSSSSSSSDDSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! I am the luckiest man in the WORLD!"

Young is a seventh-place finisher on "Idol" season 5, and DeGarmo is a runner-up on the third season of the singing competition. Their paths crossed when they appeared together in a 2010 revival of "Hair" on Broadway. "We played with the idea [of dating] when we first met," she said. "[But] we were friends, first and foremost..We had both been through 'Idol,' which is such a unique and life-changing experience, and we just truly bonded."
