Mads Mikkelsen Gets Villainous Role in 'Thor 2', Ashley Hamilton Up for 'Iron Man 3'
Movie

Mikkelsen will provide one more antagonistic character for the second God of Thunder film aside from Loki, while Hamilton will play government cyborg Firepower in the third armored hero movie.

AceShowbiz - Two Marvel Studios' upcoming big movies, "Thor 2" and "Iron Man 3", have each added new villainous character. The first sequel to the God of Thunder movie, in particular, will not only have Tom Hiddleston's Loki as its villain, but also another antagonistic character whom Mads Mikkelsen is said to be close to star as.

Mikkelsen's bad guy role is still kept under tight wraps. Meanwhile, Variety reported that Hiddleston will still have a big part as the major supervillain in the second "Thor" film, which is due to open in the United States on November 15, 2013.

Mikkelsen is best known for playing the villain in "Casino Royale". His latest film, "The Hunt (2012)", has recently been screened at the 65th annual Cannes Film Festival. By joining "Thor 2", he will star opposite returning cast such as Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Idris Elba.

As for the third armored hero movie, Variety broke the news that Ashley Hamilton is set to star as government cyborg Firepower. The villain is described in the comicbooks as a pilot of experimental armored suit under the secret mission called "Project: Firepower". He later uses the suit to confront Iron Man.

In addition to Hamilton, "Iron Man 3" is set to bring back Jon Favreau but not to reprise his directing duty. The Hollywood Reporter has the words that Favreau has sealed a deal to return as Happy Hogan, the bodyguard of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

It is still unclear how big Favreau's role would be in the third movie. He had previously directed both "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2" but decided not to helm the third film, which now has Shane Black replacing him.

Currently filming in North Carolina, the upcoming superhero pic is scheduled to arrive in theaters nationwide on May 3, 2013. Aside from Downey Jr., it will be supported by Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall and James Badge Dale.
