The 'Inglourious Basterds' leading actor says that before getting married, 'we're hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states.'

AceShowbiz - In addition to promoting his new film "Killing Them Softly" while at Cannes Film Festival, Brad Pitt took time to address questions about his nuptials plan. The actor said at a press conference that he and his fiancee Angelina Jolie haven't set a wedding date just yet, and he explained why.

"We actually, really and truly, have no date," the father of six told the press. Before the date is set, "we're hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states," so explained the "World War Z" leading star.

That was not the first time Pitt talked about his hope to see same-sex marriage being legalized before he gets married. "I've said that we would not be getting married until everyone in this county had the right to get married," he told Ellen DeGeneres in a September 2011 interview.

Although he and Jolie didn't have a plan to get hitched sometime soon, Pitt said being engaged was "something that made sense" to them. Their engagement was announced by his manager on April 13. "Yes, it's confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy," the manager said back then.

While the "Moneyball" actor is busy doing promos for his movie, Jolie is occupied with her own projects which include a big-screen adaptation of Sleeping Beauty story "Maleficent". "She's prepping for a movie that starts pretty soon," he spilled.
