As a montage of the contestants' journeys plays in the background, the season 10 winner brings the last performance show to a close with a serenade of Tim McGraw's 1999 hit single.

AceShowbiz - Scotty McCreery has gone back to "American Idol" for the second time this season. Taking over the stage at the end of the Tuesday, May 22 night show, the winner of season 10 serenaded the audience with his version of Tim McGraw's 1999 hit single, "Please Remember Me", that he re-recorded for season 11's "goodbye song".

Wearing a shirt under brown vest that he paired with blue jeans, the 18-year-old singer sang the country tune while a montage of the contestants' journeys plays in the background. Speaking of being chosen to sing the farewell song, he previously said, "The send-off song was always a way to stay connected to the show. I'm glad they chose me to do it."

McCreery has personally come back to the "Idol" stage back in March. At the time, he delivered his latest single "Water Tower Town" along with a live band, and accepted a platinum plaque from Interscope Records' Jimmy Iovine for selling 1 million copies of his debut album "Clear as Day". He will return to the show once again on the second night of the finale on Wednesday, May 23.

About his back-to-back performances on the finale, McCreery said in a statement, "I am so excited about going back to American Idol and seeing everyone again. I hope to spend some time with the finalists, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez, and share some of my experiences with them." He added, "I can't believe that it's been a year since I was in their shoes."

McCreery isn't the only music star entertaining the audience on Tuesday night. Jason Derulo also came to the show to debut his brand new song, "Undefeated", which was completed with the help of "Idol" fans who voted online for their favorite lyrics as part of Coca-Cola's "Perfect Harmony" program.
