While the single mother doesn't feel a connection with Joe, she gives Ryan the rose after he visits her home and bakes cookies for her daughter.

AceShowbiz - After meeting her suitors in last week's episode, Emily Maynard went on dates with some lucky guys in the second episode of "The Bachelorette" season 8. First to receive the date card was Ryan. He and Emily drove off to her house, where he helped bake cookies for her daughter Ricki's soccer game. They later dropped off the cookies to the soccer field, but Emily asked Ryan to stay in the car.

Emily and Ryan continued their date with a romantic dinner, where the single mother told him, "I don't want to be the game." Ryan, in turn, wanted to know if she's going to allow "a man to come in and really treat Ricki the same way that he's going to treat the other children that he's going to have" with her. At the end of the day, Emily found the date to be perfect and gave Ryan the rose.

Next, Emily went for a group date with 13 guys, including Jef, Chris, John and Alessandro. They did a charity show with The Muppets to benefit The Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care at the Levine Children's Hospital. Charlie admitted to Emily he didn't think he could do a sketch because he had a speech issue as a result of an accident. Emily understood and they agreed he could dance instead.

During the performance, Emily almost landed a kiss on Kermit but Miss Piggy interrupted them. Emily later invited her daughter Ricki onto the stage and they sang "Rainbow Connection" together. They managed to raise $20,000 from the event.

After the charity show, Emily got to talk with the guys. Kalon interrupted when Emily was dancing with Stevie, before Aaron interrupted Stevie and Emily. Kalon complained to the other guys and he started arguing with Stevie. When it's time to give the date rose, Emily picked Jef.

For the second one-on-one date, Emily and Joe jetted off to the Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia, which was very "close" to Emily's heart. They had a dinner and started talking about what they wanted in life, but Emily still didn't feel a connection with him. She cried when telling Joe that she didn't feel she and Ricki fit in his life. Joe realized he had to walk out of the show.

Back at the mansion, the guys were shocked that Joe was not returning. Trying to get close to Emily, Ryan wrote a long poem for Emily. Tony had to wait for a quite long time before he got his turn to spend some time with Emily.

At the rose ceremony, Emily gave the roses to Kalon, Arie, Michael, Nate, Sean, Chris, Doug, Travis, Tony, John, Alessandro, Charlie, Alejnadro and Stevie. Meanwhile, Aaron and Kyle were sent home.
