Bryan Adams, Black Eyed Peas' Taboo and Duran Duran are among the first to share their reaction to the death of the Bee Gees member, who passed away on Sunday, May 20.

Robin Gibb, the twin brother of the late Maurice Gibb, passed away Sunday, May 20 around two years after he began his fight against colon and liver cancer. A post on his official Twitter account details that the 62-year-old singer died at 10:47 A.M. U.K. time.

Robin's family has confirmed his passing through a representative. "The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery," the rep said in a statement. "The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time."

News of Robin's death has quickly drawn reaction from many fellow musicians. Bryan Adams took to his Twitter to say, "Robin Gibb RIP. Very sad to hear about yet another great singer dying too young," as Duran Duran offered their sympathy by writing, "Sorry to hear about the passing of Robin Gibb of the BeeGees. Our condolences to his friends and family."

Also among the first sharing their condolences on Twitter were The Script and Black Eyed Peas' Taboo. The Irish rock band remembered, "We met Robin+Barry in NY. Such a lovely guy. Prayers 2 his family. 2 many Legends being taken from us 2 early," while Taboo wrote, "Another #disco legend has passed. RIP Robin Gibb. The Bee Gees' will always be #StayinAlive in our hearts."

Words of condolences also came from Hollywood. Lou Diamond Phillips tweeted, "RIP Robin Gibb. Once again, like Donna Summer, he was part of the soundtrack of my youth. His music will always bring a smile & a memory," David Boreanaz wrote in his tribute, "R.I.P. Robin Gibb. The Bee Gees, one of the most successful groups in pop music history. Pure genius," and Kris Jenner said, "Rest In Peace Robin Gibb...you brought us so much joy what an amazing talent!!"

Robin's health problems began in 2010 when fell ill with intestinal problems that seemed to be a reminiscence of his twin's health issues. He underwent emergency surgery for a blocked bowel before having more surgery for a twisted bowel. In mid-April 2012, the "How Deep is Your Love" singer slipped into a coma after contracting pneumonia, but regained consciousness more than a week later.
