The rocker could be the world's richest musician should the report that his 2.3 percent stake at the social network is true.

AceShowbiz - Bono is hooked deep into the stock market launch of Facebook. After putting in about $176 million since 2009, the U2 frontman reportedly owns 2.3 percent of the shares of the social network, which could be worth more than $1.5 billion.
Bono may well be the richest musician out there if the report were true. Paul McCartney currently holds the title of the world's richest rock star with $1.05 billion of fortune. However, while on the way to a fundraiser for President Obama in D.C., Bono denied that he would be catapulted to number one due to the Facebook investment.
Bono and his band are already in the list of Forbes' World's Highest-Paid Musicians last year after their tour grossed $700 million. The group are said working on new materials for new album. "The band are back in the studio getting a feel for new material after the last album 'No Line On The Horizon'," a source told NME. "will.i.am had a credit on that and they are looking to explore that direction further. They have been working with Danger Mouse and RedOne. They are excited about getting to work with Carl Falk."
