OneRepublic Drummer Claims His Innocence After Arrest in Denver

Eddie Fisher is maintaining his innocence a day after he got arrested on suspicion of assault. The drummer pleaded not guilty to the charges of assault, destruction of private property, wrongs to a minor and two counts of disturbing the peace when he appeared in court on Wednesday, May 16. He was freed on $550 bond.

Fisher was taken into custody by Denver police early Tuesday after an argument with his girlfriend, Lonnie Weygant, turned violent. An arrest affidavit obtained by 9News uncovered that police were called to a home in east Denver at around 1:30 A.M. by Weygant's roommate. While Weygant told dispatchers her hand was injured, Fisher was bleeding from a small cut on his forehead.

Fisher told officers Weygant was "acting hysterical and had trapped him in the bathroom." He also claimed his girlfriend took his dog when he was trying to get into his car. Weygant, on the other hand, accused the 38-year-old rocker of grabbing her head and throwing her down after she accused him of cheating on her.

In an interview with Fox 31 News, Weygant told reporter Greg Nieto, "Things just got out of hand and he snappedā¦and my entire cabinets are ripped off from my walls." She went on recounting, "I had my feet up against the wall trying not to let him in, and he busted through the door and he pushed me through the cabinets."

Weygant later posted on her Facebook page, "I cannot ask the media enough to respect my situation and children in all this mess. While this is all very exciting for the public eye it is truly hard to swallow for me and my kids." She added, "All I can ask is that you give us the space needed to get past this difficult time."
