Darren sings two original songs during an awards show, and says in another occasion that he's not mad at the 'Somebody That I Used to Know' hitmaker despite his biting remarks.

AceShowbiz - Darren Criss had a nice treat for his fans during an awards show recently. The Blaine Anderson of "Glee", who has covered lots of songs on the TV series and other off-screen gigs, played not just one but two original songs when hosting 2012's Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards.

In the opening number, Criss strummed his guitar and made fun at his three-week stint in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying". In the second set, the Favorite Replacement winner who looked sleek in a suit opted to play a piano and poke fun at the Favorite Actress nominees.

In another occasion, Criss reacted to Gotye's biting remarks about "Glee" rendition of "Somebody That I Used to Know". He responded to the Belgian-Australian indie singer when attending this year's Met Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

The actor said to Showbiz Tonight, "I was not mad or disturbed at all by what he said. He's allowed to say whatever he wants." He explained furthermore, "Art is totally subjective," before adding, "I'm not a big mudslinger."

"That's a common example of the media running away with something I think was completely harmless," he stated. "I've been a long time Gotye fan - the fact that Gotye even knows who I am and what my name is, I am super thrilled."
