AceShowbiz - The long-running legal battle between Bret Michaels and the producers of the Tony Awards and CBS has ended. The Poison singer has settled the lawsuit about the head injury that he sustained at the 2009 ceremony.
Details of the settlement were not disclosed. Michaels' attorney Alex Weingarten, wrote to The AP, "Mr. Michaels would like to thank his fans for their continued support." Meanwhile, representatives of Tony Awards and CBS have released a joint statement, saying that "an amicable resolution" had been reached but no further details would be released.
Michaels' head collided with a piece of the descending set when he was performing with the cast of "Rock of Ages". The rocker needed three stitches in his lips and suffered a broken nose. He later blamed his brain hemorrhage and mild stroke in 2010 on the incident.
He was suing the producers for not warning him of the set change and went on airing the incident which quickly became viral. Michaels was also offended that host Neil Patrick Harris was making a light of the situation by joking about it without knowing the real situation.
