Movie

The 'Twilight Saga' hunk will play a New York bicycle messenger who is dragged into the world of parkour after crashing his bike into a sexy stranger.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Lautner will show off his parkour skills in his next movie. It has been confirmed on Monday, May 14 that the Jacob Black in the "Twilight Saga" film series has signed on to tackle the lead part in FilmNation Entertainment's action thriller called "Tracers".

The company announced that Lautner is set to star as Cam, a New York City bicycle messenger who is in debt to an organized crime gang. When he crashes his bike into a sexy stranger named Nikki, Cam is immediately seduced by her and the thrill of the world of parkour.

"Tracers" will be shopped to international buyers at the 65th annual Cannes Film Festival. The movie will be directed by Daniel Benmayor, with Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey serving as the producers through their Temple Hill Entertainment banner.

In addition to "Tracers", FilmNation will handle the international sales for some other films at Cannes. They are Sofia Coppola's "The Bling Ring" which stars Emma Watson, John Hillcoat's "Lawless (2012)" which stars Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy, and Jeff Nichols' "Mud" which stars Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon.

As for Lautner, the Michigan native has reportedly been seeking for high-end projects post-"Twilight". He was seen starring opposite Lily Collins in "Abduction", which unfortunately performed under expectation as it took in a mere $28 million domestically.

The actor has been tapped in an indie pic to be directed by Gus Van Sant, as well as Adam Sandler's latest comedy "Grown Ups 2". He will next be seen returning as Jacob Black in "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part II", which opens wide in the U.S. on November 16.
