A source who attended the early screenings of 'Dictator' admits to have watched the 'Anchorman' sequel's first sneak peek, which shows Channel 4 news team minus Veronica.

AceShowbiz - While director/screenwriter Adam McKay recently admitted that he hasn't even finalized the script for "Anchorman 2", it is now reported that a first teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy will be revealed sooner than expected. Collider has the words that the sequel's sneak peek is set to be attached to "The Dictator" screenings.
A source who attended the advanced screening of the Sacha Baron Cohen-starring mockumentary told the film site, "Just got out of a screening of The Dictator. There is an Anchorman 2 teaser attached."
The source claimed that the teaser features "the Channel 4 news team (minus Veronica) stating how excited they are to return... a concept that Brick seems to have a hard time with." The onlooker added, "Also, not sure if it was an official title or more of a slogan but the screen title read Anchorman: The Legend Continues followed by '2013'."
The report was fueled as McKay himself took to his Twitter account to tease a special treat moviegoers will get if they watch "The Dictator". The filmmaker wrote, "See the Dictator (I worked on it and it's crazy funny), in addition to Campaign trailer with Zach and Will there's another treat before it."
Plot details of "Anchorman 2" are still scarce for now, but McKay once stated that Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy will face new challenge with trend change along with his Action News Team. McKay elaborated further that the "Anchorman" sequel will be set in the late 1970s where 24 hours news trend has just begun.
"It's right when all the news started changing with the 24-hour news cycle in '78 or '79," he dished. "All of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors. And any time you're talking about the diversity and the Action News team, that's always fun to deal with."
The production is expected to kick off in February 2013. On the progress of the screenplay writing, McKay explained, "We've done about two percent! Half a percent? We've got five pages of story notes and chunks of story. We're holding up writing for the next three months."
The first "Anchorman" movie, which was released in 2004, focused on Ferrell's Burgundy, who was a top-rated anchorman in San Diego during the '70s. The film grossed $90.5 million worldwide against the budget of a mere $26 million.
