Marion Cotillard Insists She's NOT Talia Al Ghul in 'The Dark Knight Rises'
Movie

Admitting that she only tackles a 'very, very small role' in the Batman film, the 'Inception' actress claims that her character is a 'good guy' and not a villainess like Ra's Al Ghul's daughter.

AceShowbiz - For the umpteenth time, Marion Cotillard denied the continuous rumors that she will be playing Talia Al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's final Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises". To The Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner claimed that she only lands a "very, very small role" in the highly anticipated film, explaining that her character is not villainess Talia.

Marion explained that she will tackle the part of Miranda Tate, an ecologically minded businesswoman who "is fascinated by Wayne Enterprises. They go through difficulties, and she wants to help provide the world clean energies. She's a good guy." Urged to answer if she'll remain Miranda throughout the film, the actress stated, "Yes."

Speculations that Marion will play Talia have run high since the film was on its early stage of production. Last year, the "Inception" actress claimed that Miranda Tate is not an alias for villainous Talia al Ghul. She went on describing her character, "Well, actually, it was not based off of a character in the comic."

The rumors, however, kept persistent when Liam Neeson, who played Talia's father Ra's Al Ghul in "Batman Begins", hinted he might return as Ra's in "Dark Knight Rises". The actor revealed to ShowbizSpy that he visited the film's set to shoot a minor scene. "I was on set for maybe an hour-and-a-half and the director didn't tell me anything of what it's about," he said, "So, I'm being very honest when I say I have no idea what's going to happen."

Adding fuel to the long-running speculations was young actress Joey King, who admitted that she has been cast as young Talia. "I play young Talia Al Ghul," she once told My Entertainment World. "I can't give too much away because I promised Mr. Nolan I wouldn't say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie."

The Talia Al Ghul rumors aside, "The Dark Knight Rises" will bring back Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman. He will be joined by Tom Hardy as terrorist Bane, who arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, as well as forcing Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent's crimes.

The much awaited DC Comics movie will make its way out onto theaters in the U.S. on July 20.
