Jack White Posts First No. 1 Album With Solo Debut 'Blunderbuss'

The ex-frontman of The White Stripes dethrones Lionel Richie by selling 138,000 copies of his newly-released solo studio album.

AceShowbiz - Jack White enters high at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200 this week, marking his first-ever chart topper. The former lead singer of The White Stripes secures his position atop the U.S. album chart with his solo debut album "Blunderbuss" which bows with 138,000 copies sold.

Throughout his career as a member of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, Jack scored a total of seven top 10 albums. His previous highest peak on the chart was posted through The White Stripes' 2007 album "Icky Thump", which landed at No. 2.

The second-highest new entry of this week is Lee Brice. The country music singer arrives at No. 5 with his sophomore set "Hard 2 Love" which garners 46,000 copies in its opening week. Kip Moore and The Wanted follow by landing at No. 6 and 7 respectively.

Last week's champ Lionel Richie slips to No. 3 as his country crossover album "Tuskegee" only adds 78,000 copies (down 31|percent|). While he falls, Adele and One Direction rise one spot each. The former now sits at No. 2 with "21", while the latter settles at No. 4 with "Up All Night".
