Tyler Perry's Atlanta Film Studio Damaged by Massive Fire

The Atlanta Fire Department couldn't confirm that the 'Madea's Witness Protection' filmmaker was on the scene when the fire broke, but assure that no one was injured during the incident.

Bad news came from one of Hollywood's notable filmmakers. On Tuesday night, May 1, massive fire has broken out at 's Atlanta film studio. Over 100 firefighters, 13 engines and 12 trucks were on the scene at around 9 P.M. in response to the four-alarm fire at Perry's Continental Colony Parkway studio complex.

Later that night, the Atlanta Fire Department stated that the fire was under control. It was reported that Perry was on the location when the fire broke. Thankfully, Captain Joylon Bundrige confirmed that no one was injured during the incident. He told Los Angeles Times, "As far as I know, [Perry] is OK - there was a report that he was on the scene, but I didn't see him."

The cause of the fire is still unclear. Though so, Bundrige claimed that the firefighters on the scene were continuing to investigate the source on late Tuesday. On the other hand, a representative for the "" filmmaker did not immediately release a comment regarding the misfortune.

The Louisiana-born filmmaker built the studio in 2008 on a 200,000-square-foot location in Southwest Atlanta. According to his website, the film studio includes a back lot, a 400-seat theater, a private screening room, five sound stages, a post-production facility, a chapel and a gym. Back in March, the moviemaker hosted a fundraiser event for President Barack Obama at the 30-acre complex.

Perry, who is affiliated to Lionsgate Entertainment, is currently finalizing the production of "The Marriage Counselor", which also stars . As a partner, Lionsgate has yet to comment on whether or not the accident will affect productions for Perry's next projects.
