NBC Orders Matthew Perry's Comedy to Series

The former 'Friends' star will portray a sportscaster on single-camera project 'Go On', which is written by Scott Silveri and executive produced by Todd Holland.

is set to return to NBC with a new comedy project. His pilot "", which comes from former "Friends" writer/producer Scott Silveri, has been picked up to series by the Peacock.

On the single-camera project, the star of the short-lived ABC sitcom "" will play a charming sportscaster who attends therapy in an attempt to move on from a loss. Julie White, who is known for playing Sam Witwicky's mother in "" film series, is cast as Anne, an angry widow whom Perry meets in his support group.

, Suzy Nakamura, and Khary Payton also join the cast of the pilot, which is directed by Todd Holland. Perry, Silveri, Holland and Karey Burke will executive produce it.

"Go On" is another new series which will be included in NBC's fall line-up. Previously, the network has picked up Bryan Fuller's "" to series.

After portraying Chandler Bing on the popular NBC sitcom "Friends", Perry starred on short-lived series "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and landed a role in some films namely "Fools Rush In" and "". He currently appears on CBS' "" as recurring character Mike Kresteva.
