AceShowbiz - Dr. Dre is thrilled by the overwhelmingly-positive response for his effort in bringing back Tupac Shakur via hologram image at the Coachella recently. The rapper/producer hopes it inspires the resurrections of other legends.
When met by TMZ outside Boa steakhouse in Hollywood recently, the Doc said, "Hopefully, you know, different artists are able to bring out their favorite artists." He added, "Hopefully, we can see Jimi Hendrix and Marvin Gaye."
Talking about the virtual Tupac itself, the visionary rap mogul proudly said, "I think everybody's in love with it right now, so we're having fun." As for his next step, the rapper spilled he's looking to perfecting the hologram image to be more real.
"I'm not sure right now, [there's] a technology that's happening where the hologram could be 360 degrees," he opened up. "Right now it's flat, it just looks like it's 3-dimensional from the front, but I'm working on some new and different things for the future."
When asked about report that he's going to bring the virtual rapper to tour with him, Dre said, "Thinking about it, nothing for sure."
The virtual Tupac created buzz on the web throughout the week after the Coachella. Rihanna and Katy Perry who watched it from the ground raved about it on Twitter, and so did Warren G and Kendrick Lamar who joined the Sunday, April 15 set.
Warren said it gave him chill because "it looked like him, it talked like him, it just moved like him," while Kendrick said, "It was just something that I didn't think nobody could ever do." He continued, "I didn't even know this dude was thinking up no crazy s**t like that."
Most recently, Wiz Khalifa said, "It's cool. Dr. Dre and Snoop are alive, so that was pretty awesome to be up there with them, but yeah, it was awesome." He, however, confessed the likeliness of the late rapper made him feel uneasy, "I don't know, it kinda freaked me out."
