The Middleton sisters are deemed icons as many women look up to them for inspirations be it in figure or fashion.

AceShowbiz - Kate Middleton once again makes the list of TIME magazine's 100 most influential people of the year but the Duchess of Cambridge is no longer accompanied by her husband Prince William like last year. Her sister, Pippa Middleton is included in the 2012 list instead, thanks to the famous maid of honor gown that showed her best asset to the world.

TIME categorized Pippa under "icon", writing "A slinky bridesmaid's dress at the wedding of her sister, thrust Pippa backward into the public eye." Since making herself famous at the royal wedding, the 29-year-old has been seen at social scenes like sports events and top parties.

Meanwhile, Kate is described as the Queen-in-waiting. "Now the Duchess of Cambridge continues to raise spirits and burnish the Windsor family name through her solo appearances as the patron of several charities. Whether greeting cancer victims or cutting ribbons, she demonstrates a common touch without sacrificing the mystique of royalty. The future of British monarchy appears to be in secure hands," the magazine said.

TIME's Europe editor said about the sisters' inclusion, "The Middletons have become avatars of aspiration. Other women aim to dress like them, to emulate their easy athleticism and their more problematic slenderness."

Also among the class of 2012 are Rihanna, Kristen Wiig, Barack Obama, Jeremy Lin, Stephen Colbert, Raphael Saadiq, and Adele.
