The guitarist, who once also played for Faces, confirms that the Stones are going to head back to the studio to 'throw some ideas around,' 'get the feel again,' and try new material.

AceShowbiz - 2012 is likely to be a busy year for Ronnie Wood. The Rolling Stones star is set to reunite with his bandmates for a new project. The guitarist, who will be inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a second time later this month, also talked about the possibility of recording another solo album.
Talking to the press during the opening of his painting exhibition, "Faces, Time and Places", in New York City on Monday, March 9, Ron said the band were "kicking at the heels" to craft music again. They would reunite in the studio later this month "to just throw some ideas around" and "to get the feel again."
The English painter-turned-musician added, "We're going to get together to have a rehearsal and see what happens." He additionally spilled, "We will be doing new material, but we haven't had a chance to chat with each other yet about what it is. Mick [Jagger] and Keith [Richards] will get together on that."
Of doing another solo album, Ron said, "Lots of people don't know I've made seven, 'cause most of my albums escape; they're not released." The musician, who's also known for playing with Faces and The Jeff Beck Group, continued, "Keith says they all skyrocket to oblivion."
In addition to promising new music, The Rolling Stones are also preparing to release a documentary and might tour again to celebrate their 50th anniversary. "It's like working out for the Olympics or something," he gushed. "You've got to go into training. So we're going to go into training."
On top of that, Ron has his own solo gig set on April 21 at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, New Jersey. "Lots of surprises because I'm going to surprise myself. I don't know what the hell is coming next," he teased. "The whole set list is going to be made up. I'm making it up every day now."
Prior to the show, he will come to the Public Hall in downtown Cleveland, Ohio on April 14 for the 27th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. He was first welcomed to the Hall of Fame in 1989 with The Rolling Stones, and now he will be inducted again along with Faces' other members.
Regardless of his achievements in music, Ron insisted his real passion lies in painting. Calling his career in music as "a group effort," he said, "I'm a painter who plays guitar." He recalled his first years as a painter, "I thought I'll make it as a musician first and then show people that I can paint. So that's what I did. In the 80's, I really started to pay my way with my painting,"
During the Monday art show, the musician, who studied at Ealing Art College in London, exhibited portraits of his bandmates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts, along with other public figures such as Jerry Hall, who's formerly married to Jagger, boxer legend Muhammad Ali, and movie vet Al Pacino.
