apparently is still fuming over recent speculations that she had undergone cosmetic surgery. Nearly a month after her puffy face at an appearance on a Canadian talk show became the talk of the town, the "" actress fired back at the media in a lengthy article on the Daily Beast.

"The Conversation about women's bodies exists largely outside of us, while it is also directed at (and marketed to) us, and used to define and control us," the 43-year-old started her post. She continued, "As an actor and woman who, at times, avails herself of the media, I am painfully aware of the conversation about women's bodies, and it frequently migrates to my own body. I know this, even though my personal practice is to ignore what is written about me."

Having explained why she chose to "abstain from all media about myself," Judd further noted that the plastic surgery speculations in March "feel different". She went on, "Consequently, I choose to address it because the conversation was pointedly nasty, gendered, and misogynistic and embodies what all girls and women in our culture, to a greater or lesser degree, endure every day, in ways both outrageous and subtle."

The leading lady of "" then listed a brief analysis of her five "conclusions" on speculations and criticism surrounding her look. In one, she wrote, "When I am sick for more than a month and on medication (multiple rounds of steroids), the accusation is that because my face looks puffy, I have 'clearly had work done.' "

In another, Judd called out the press for calling her a "cow" and a "pig" as well as telling her to "better watch out" because her husband "is looking for his second wife" when she went from size two to size six "after a lazy six months of not exercising" and her weight gain shows in her face and arms.

The "" actress additionally pointed out, "We are unable at times to identify ourselves as our own denigrating abusers, or as abusing other girls and women. A case in point is that this conversation was initially promulgated largely by women; a sad and disturbing fact. (That they are professional friends of mine, and know my character and values, is an additional betrayal.)"

Judd showed off a puffier-than-normal face during an appearance on CTV's "The Marilyn Denis Show" back in March. After cosmetic surgery accusations surfaced, her representative came out with an explanation, saying in a statement, "[Judd] has been battling an ongoing, serious sinus infection and flu. Therefore, [Judd] has been on a heavy dose of medication to overcome it."
