Selling half of a million copies of his single, Bieber notches the second-best debut sales week of all time for a single and the fourth for debut or non-debut sales week.

AceShowbiz - Justin Bieber makes a high debut at the second place on Billboard Hot 200 with his brand new single "Boyfriend", marking his highest entry on the single chart. He posted his previous highest start with his claim-fame single "Baby", which arrived at No. 5 two years ago. His other top-10 single is 2011's "Never Say Never" that peaked at the fifth place.

On the digital sale, Bieber pulls in a total of 521,000 downloads with the single which he co-wrote with Mike Posner. It is the second-best debut sales week of all time for a single after Flo Rida's "Right Round" that fared better by garnering around 636,000 downloads in its opening week in February of 2009.

Additionally, "Boyfriend" leads Bieber to be ranked the fourth in the all-time list of debut or non-debut sales week for a single. He surpasses Lady GaGa ("Born This Way", 509,000). Flo Rida is still the leader in this list, being followed by Ke$ha for "Tik Tok" (610,000) and Bruno Mars for "Grenade" (559,000).

On radio, "Boyfriend" gains 40 million audience impressions and lands at No. 24 on the Radio Songs chart. It makes Bieber a male solo artist with the third-biggest debut audience impression after Eminem and Michael Jackson. The Slim Shady leads with 2004's "Just Lose It" (52 million), while the late King of Pop follows with 1991's "Black or White" (41 million).

To seal his impressive radio-airplay ratings and digital song sales, the teen popstar makes a history-setting debut on the mainstream top 40-based Pop Songs radio airplay chart. He soars on the list with 3,961 first-week plays, which is the best first-week plays sum for a song by a male artist in the chart's almost 20-year history.

The only single that performs better on Hot 100 than "Boyfriend" and blocks it from the top spot this week is "We Are Young" by Fun. The song actually slips from No. 1 to No. 2 on Digital Songs with 363,000 downloads (down 6|percent|), but its performance on Radio Songs makes up the digital-sale decrease. It moves from No. 4 to No. 2 with 104 million audience impressions (up 19|percent|).

The rest of the top 5 on Hot 100 are filled by Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" which rises from No. 4 to one spot higher, The Wanted's "Glad You Came" which gives up the third spot to occupy the fourth, and former champ Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" which rounds up the top 5.
