David Letterman and Craig Ferguson Extend Deals to Stay on CBS Through 2014

With the new two-year deal, the 'Late Show with David Letterman' host is set to surpass Johnny Carson's record as longest-running late-night TV host.

AceShowbiz - David Letterman and Craig Ferguson are staying on CBS until at least the next two years. The two hosts have signed contracts with the network that will keep their shows, "Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" respectively, on the air through 2014.

"David Letterman is a late-night legend with an iconic show and Craig Ferguson continues to evolve the genre in exciting and innovative ways," said CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler. "These new agreements deliver ongoing high-quality entertainment for our audience and continued strength and stability for CBS in late night."

As part of the deal, Ferguson's show will move to a larger stage at CBS Television City in Los Angeles. As for Letterman, the extended contract brings him closer to surpass Johnny Carson's record as longest-running late-night host in TV history.

In another news, Letterman has had a sitdown with Keith Olbermann to talk about his recent departure from Current TV. In the interview which airs on the Tuesday, April 3 episode of "Late Show", the political commentator said, "I screwed up really big on this. Let's just start there. I thought we could do this. It's my fault that it didn't succeed in the sense that I didn't think the whole thing through."
