Donning a Napoleon-like costume, the 'Gladiator' actor is caught on camera riding a horse while filming a scene on the set of the musical film in Buckinghamshire, England.

AceShowbiz - Another photo taken from the set of Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables" in Buckinghamshire, England has been shared online, revealing a first look at Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert. Saddling up on a horse, Crowe is seen donning a Napoleon-like costume complete with a bicorne.

Javert is a rigid authoritative Frenchman who imprisons Hugh Jackman's Jean Valjean after he stole a bread to feed his sister's starving children during an economic depression in France. Javert later releases Valjean on parole, but then dedicates his life to imprisoning him again.

Previously, there was another on-set picture that unveils a first look at Jackman as ex-con Valjean. In contrary to Crowe's dapper look, Jackman was snapped rocking dirty rags while sporting poorly-shaven haircut that exposed scars all over his head.

Based on an acclaimed novel by Victor Hugo, "Les Miserables" is written by William Nicholson. The prestigious musical film project also stars Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Samantha Barks as Eponine, as well as Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter as the Thenardier couple.

Universal Pictures will release the anticipated movie in the U.S. on December 14.
