First Look at Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy in John Hillcoat's 'Lawless'
Movie

LaBeouf and Hardy play two of the three Bondurant brothers in the upcoming true story drama, which was formerly known as 'The Wettest County'.

AceShowbiz - A first look at Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy in John Hillcoat's "Lawless (2012)" has been revealed in a photo that appears in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. The scanned version of the image has been shared online, featuring the two actors as two of the three Bondurant brothers in the film.

Portraying Jack, the youngest of the three brothers, LaBeouf is seen looking dapper in a vest and a long-sleeved shirt. Hardy, meanwhile, is featured more like a vulnerable man with his hand holding a cane.

"Lawless" is based on a historical novel by Matt Bondurant. In the book, Hardy's Forrest is described as a skinny man. The actor, however, was forced to play him bulky. "He had to put on weight for 'The Dark Knight Rises'," explained producer Lucy Fisher. "But he figured out other ways of showing the vulnerable side of this violent character."

The period movie revolves around a moonshine gang who operate in the bootlegging capital of America, Franklin County, Virginia, during Prohibition. Starring as the other member of the moonshiner sibling, Howard, is Jason Clarke.

To open in the U.S. on August 31, "Lawless" is written by Nick Cave. Also supporting the drama are Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Dane DeHaan and Randall Franks.

The movie was formerly known as "The Wettest County". Fisher explained that the new title was given under the permission of Terrence Malick, who also develops a film with the same title. "We'd always wanted the title 'Lawless' but it was always unavailable to us... Terry very graciously gave us the go-ahead to use it. He gets a special thank you in the movie," said the producer.
