Carnie Wilson: Having Lap-Band Surgery Is About Taking Good Care of Myself

The Wilson Phillips singer has undergone another weight loss surgery, twelve years after she had a gastric bypass surgery, to lose the pounds she gained when pregnant with her daughters.

AceShowbiz - Carnie Wilson is taking care of her weight issue by going under the knife for a second time. According to PEOPLE, the 43-year-old singer underwent a lap-band surgery, a procedure that places a silicone band around the stomach to create a pouch the size of a golf ball, on January 18, around twelve years after she had gastric bypass surgery.

"It was the right decision for me and I'm doing really well so far. It's all about taking good care of myself," reasoned the Wilson Phillips singer, who has previously opened up about her struggle in losing the pounds she's gained since having children. Since having the lap-band procedure, she claimed to have lost 30 pounds.

Wilson underwent gastric bypass surgery in 1999 after she'd ballooned to 300 pounds. She subsequently lost 150 pounds, but put on some pounds during her pregnancy with her daughters, now 6-year-old Lola and 2-year-old Luciana. Back in 2010, she told PEOPLE, "Having children derailed me a bit. I'm just frustrated with these pounds."

After inching back up on the scale to 212 pounds, Wilson turned to Dr. Oz for help. On "The Dr. Oz Show", she said, "I have to be a teacher to my daughters. Lola started to notice commercials on TV with people who are trying to lose weight, and she looks at me. She's thinking about this stuff, and it's getting to her."
