Trying to calm the angry fans of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', Bay explains that he just wants to 'help expand and give a more complex back story' to the upcoming reboot movie.

AceShowbiz - After causing outrage among fanboys for revealing the alien origin in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", Michael Bay released a statement to calm the angry fans down. Taking to his Shoot for the Edit account, the 47-year-old moviemaker told them to "chill" and promised that the upcoming reboot will not be a disappointment.

"Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script," so Bay wrote. The filmmaker who works as a producer for the anticipated comic book movie went on explaining, "Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of 'Ninja Turtles' to help expand and give a more complex back story."

Trying to calm down the fans' anger, the "Transformers" helmer stated, "Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world."

Bay has recently claimed that Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael will appear as aliens despite the fact that they are described as mutants in the comics. "These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable," so he said while attending the 2012 Nickelodeon Upfront at the Lincoln Center in New York.

The statement soon sparked frenzy in some social networking sites. Robbie Rist, who voiced Michelangelo in the original 1990 live-action film, wrote on his Facebook page on Monday, March 19, accusing Bay of "sodomizing" the original movies and causing "the rape of our childhood memories."

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on Christmas Day in 2013. Plot details of the upcoming remake movie are still sealed. Nonetheless, it is said that the film will be a new reimagining of the iconic comic and cartoon series. "Wrath of the Titans" helmer Johnathan Liebesman is close to tackle the directing duty for the live action/CGI combo movie which cost a reported $100 million to produce.
