New 'Hunger Games' Clip: Katniss Sadly Bids Goodbye to Gale
Movie

In a short amount of time before she is taken to the Capitol, Katniss says goodbye to her best friend in District 12 while telling him to take care of her family while she's away from home.

AceShowbiz - Another clip from "The Hunger Games" has been made available for viewing pleasure. The short snippet highlights a touching scene where Katniss Everdeen is forced to say goodbye to her best friend Gale Hawthorne in a little amount of time before she's taken to the Capitol. "Take care of them Gale, whatever you do, don't let them starve," so the heroine tells her buddy to look after her sister and mother while she's away.

Gale is Katniss' best friend in District 12 whose father was killed in the mine explosion that also killed Katniss' father. At the 74th edition of the Hunger Games, Gale is not picked as the male tribute, while Katniss decides to replace her sister Prim who is randomly selected as the female Tribute from her district.

Pitted against highly-trained competitors who have prepared for these games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy to survive in the game and go back home to District 12 alive.

Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth portray Katniss and Gale respectively. They are joined by Josh Hutcherson who stars as baker's son Peeta Mellark. Also supporting the novel-adapted movie are Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz, Wes Bentley, Donald Shuterland and Stanley Tucci.

Directed by Gary Ross, "The Hunger Games" will open wide in the U.S. on March 23.
