The 'Two and a Half Men' star is 'as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us,' announces Virgin CEO Richard Branson on his blog.

AceShowbiz - Ashton Kutcher has apparently booked a seat in a planned trip to outer space. Virgin Group founder Richard Branson made an announcement through his blog on Monday, March 19 that the estranged husband of Demi Moore has signed up to be the 500th "astronaut customer" of Virgin Galactic.

"Great news today news from our Astronaut Relations team at Virgin Galactic: our 500th future astronaut customer has just signed up! Even better news is that number 500 is Ashton Kutcher," so Branson began his blog post. The 61-year-old continued on, "I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him."

"He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself," Branson further noted, before gushing, "Ashton is joining a fast expanding group of true pioneers who are on their way to a life changing experience and a place in the history books. It's great to have him on board."

Set to be the first commercial airline to offer a trip to suborbital space, Virgin Galactic spacecraft SpaceShipTwo is in the final stages of its test flight program. "We are guided by safety and so will ensure that everything is just as safe as it can possibly be before we start commercial services - particularly as I will be on the first commercial flight with my kids!" claimed Branson in his blog post.

While Kutcher has not personally commented on his outer space trip, the "Two and a Half Men" star did retweet Branson's Twitter post, "Welcome on board @aplusk - @virgingalactic's 500th future astronaut! See you up in space Ashton?" along with a link to the business mogul's blog. Launch date for the trip, which costs $200,000 per person, has yet to be announced.
