George and Nick Clooney were among the people gathered in front of Sudanese embassy to accuse the country's government of committing mass starvation.

AceShowbiz - George Clooney went from White House to police car overnight. The actor who was invited by President Barack Obama to attend a dinner in honor of David Cameron on Wednesday, March 14 was arrested in front of Sudanese embassy in Washington D.C. the next morning.
Clooney was handcuffed along with his journalist father Nick, Martin Luther King III, NAACP President Ben Jealous, Rep Jim McGovern of Mass., Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia and former Mass. Rep. Tom Andrews, for accusing Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, of provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains in the county's border region with South Sudan.
Clooney, a long political activist, spoke before the crowd, "...We need immediate humanitarian aid into Sudan before it becomes the worst humanitarian crisis in the world." He added, the group wanted "the (Sudanese) government in Khartoum to stop randomly killing its own innocent men, women and children. Stop raping them, and stop starving them."
Clooney is especially worried for the coming rainy season. "It's about to start raining, and once it starts raining there, thousands of people are going to die," he said. Signs like "Sudan: Stop Weapons of Mass Starvation" were held up high.
Clooney and the crowd were warned three times to leave the private property and when they did not budge, police made the arrest using plastic handcuffs. Clooney's mom Nina who was also at the scene thought that her son will not be locked up. She told TMZ, "I'm extremely proud of him."
