The 'Live Free' rapper grabs two gongs for Artist of the Year and Best Live Act, while Best Coast's music video directed by Drew Barrymore is deemed Best Video Woodie.

AceShowbiz - Mac Miller came out as a big winner at the 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards. The Pennsylvania-born rapper took the most coveted prize, Woodie of the Year (Artist of the Year), and another kudo for Performing Woodie (Best Live Act) at the annual prize-giving event.

Speaking of what the awards meant for him, the rapper whose real name is Malcolm McCormick stated, "I've worked so hard every day for the last five years and winning tonight means people recognize what I'm doing." He added, "I'm really thankful. This is a huge win for my fans and me."

California-based indie band Best Coast took home Best Video Woodie for "Our Deal (Extended Version)" which was directed by Drew Barrymore. Taking the honor on behalf of the rockers, the "Going the Distance" actress said, "Thanks to MTV. There is no venue or company like them. I wanted to tell a story set to the dreamy sounds of Best Coast's music. I am lucky to have had this opportunity!!! I hope I get another!"

The Breaking Woodie, which is presented to honor Best Emerging Artist, went to Machine Gun Kelly. "Thanks to my fans ... This is an award the world didn't want us to win but we did it together. Congrats to the fans and f**k me," the rapper, who is also known as MGK, stated.

Another winner at this year's Woodie Awards was Calvin Harris. He snatched EDM Effect Woodie for his single "We Found Love" which features Rihanna as a collaborator.

The 2012 mtvU Woodie Awards Special will air on MTV and mtvU on Sunday, March 18 at 8 P.M. ET. The show will feature appearances by B.o.B, Vanessa Hudgens, J. Cole, Katerina Graham, Mike Posner and many others, with the likes of Mac Miller, Santigold and Steve Aoki taking the stage to perform. The performances can be enjoyed online on the official site.
