Rupert Grint and Chloe Moretz Added to Beach Boy Biopic 'The Drummer'

In the upcoming film about Dennis Wilson, the 'Harry Potter' actor is set to star as the iconic drummer's friend Stan while the 'Hugo' actress is cast as his daughter Jennifer.

AceShowbiz - Randall Miller's upcoming indie music biopic, "The Drummer (2012)", has added two famous young talents to its cast ensemble. Variety reported that "Harry Potter" actor Rupert Grint and "Hugo" actress Chloe Moretz are all set to tackle important roles in the true story movie about The Beach Boys' drummer Dennis Wilson.

The Ron Weasly of "Harry Potter" is set to star as Stan Shapiro, a mail room intern at William Morris. He becomes a friend to Wilson during the the last few year's of the drummer's life. As for Moretz, the "Kick-Ass" star will play Wilson's daughter Jennifer.

Grint and Moretz will join Aaron Eckhart, who has already been locked to play Wilson. Also lining up in the casting department is Vera Farmiga who will portray Fleetwood Mac's singer-songwriter Christine McVie.

"The Drummer" focuses on Wilson's life in the last six years before he passed away in 1983. In addition to working behind the lens, Miller serves as the screenwriter and producer along with Jody Savin. He will kick off the filming for the biopic on June 15.

After wrapping "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II", Grint has secured several new movie projects, including Petter Naess' anti-war drama "Into the White". As for Moretz, after taking part in Oscar-nominated "Hugo", she will be seen starring opposite Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's much awaited supernatural pic "Dark Shadows".
