Discovery has ended its relationship with "Man Vs. Wild" host Bear Grylls. The network announced on Tuesday, March 13 that it terminated all current productions with the British television personality "due to a continuing contractual dispute."

In a statement confirming the termination, Heather Krug, a representative for the 37-year-old adventurer explained, "Bear's goal has always been to make life-empowering shows for his many fans around the globe, and he has taken great risks to bring Discovery such award-winning programming over seven seasons. Unfortunately, Bear and Discovery have not been able to come to mutual agreement on new programming."

The rep added, "And he disagrees with Discovery's decision to terminate current productions. Bear has loved the 'Man vs. Wild' journey and looks forward to producing further cutting-edge content again soon for his loyal audience."

According to The Hollywood Reporter's sources, the network has been unable to get Grylls to participate in two unannounced projects he was contractually obligated to do for the channel.

The current Chief Scout of The Scout Association has since taken to Twitter to show his positive attitude despite the firing. "Super proud of my team and all they've built with ManVsWild. Looking forward to the next set of Adventures!!" so he wrote. "Thank you fans for your support!! Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. #TEAMBG."

Grylls, who also starred on Discovery's "Worst Case Scenario" in 2010, has hosted "Man Vs. Wild" since its first season in 2006. The seventh and now final season aired its last episode in November 2011.
