Movie

The 'Twilight' actress gushes that the upcoming Snow White film will uncover the princess' bitter background story including the moment when her parents 'were killed basically right in front of her.'

AceShowbiz - Kristen Stewart recently revealed some brand new details about the background story of her lead character in "Snow White and the Huntsman". Speaking to SFX magazine, the "Twilight Saga" beauty claimed that the upcoming fairy tale-adapted film is going to be extremely dark for it will uncover the tragic moments in Snow White's life.

"She's definitely a born leader," the 21-year-old actress said of her warrioress version of the fair-skinned princess. "I mean, it's literally pumping through those veins, but it's been taken from her she was put away when she was seven years old and her mother and her father were killed basically right in front of her."

Kristen went on explaining the guaranteed dark twist of the retelling film, "And we're not doing the version of a fairytale that wouldn't deal with all of those things, where you sort of skim over all those things." She added, "It's like all of these things are actually really important to the characters."

Describing the heroic side of her Snow White character in the movie, the Los Angeles-born star said, "She bleeds for her land and her people, and that's just such a cool concept for me because it's other people caring about people." She gushed, "I mean, she's strong. She can kick a**."

"I think she genuinely lacks that innate fear of death that we all have," so the actress who will be seen in indie drama "On the Road" said. She continued, "She's got serious, fierce survival, not skills but insights. But she isn't afraid of anything."

During the chat, Kristen's co-star, Chris Hemsworth, also dished on the enormous battle scenes that will be featured in the film. "We've had plenty of big fight sequences and battle sequences which were great. We had like a hundred horse on the beach at one stage, and 30 or 40 horses within the castle they'd built, a hundred extras in full armor fighting and things on fire," he said. "It certainly gets the adrenaline going."

"Snow White and the Huntsman" tells a twisted story of the classic fair-skinned princess tale. While the Grimm story presents Snow White as a lovely-singing princess, this movie features the female royal as a tough woman. She fights and defends herself against the Evil Queen under the guidance of the Huntsman.

After wrapping the principal photography in the U.K., the much awaited Snow White movie is set to arrive the U.S. theaters on June 1. Rupert Sanders works behind the lens with Hossein Amini, Evan Spiliotopoulos and Evan Daugherty penning the script. Also joining the cast ensemble are Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen, Sam Claflin as Prince William, as well as Noah Huntley and Liberty Ross as Snow White's parents.
