The Georges Duroy depicter charms the young debutante played by Holliday when they meet for the first time at the bouquet held for her 'coming out' party.

AceShowbiz - A fresh clip from "Bel Ami" has just arrived. It follows Robert Pattinson's Georges Duroy as he attends a "coming out" party for Holliday Grainger's Suzanne Walter. Several young men are introduced to the debutante, but it was him who manages to impress her.
Playing a penniless soldier, Pattinson tries to break into the Parisian society. With his irresistible look and charm, he seduces a series of powerful and wealthy mistresses played by Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas. Steamy love-making scenes ensue as he brings those ladies to bed.
Pattinson once said he could relate to Duroy. "When I first read it, I immediately related to just the idea that someone's energy wasn't about trying to achieve some kind of goal - the only time he had any energy [was] when someone slighted him," he explained. "That's how I was a few years ago. If someone insulted me, I'd get 10 years of ambition."
An adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's novel with the same title, "Bel Ami" has been screened at the 62nd Annual Berlin International Film Festival last February. The movie, however, hasn't got a release date in the United States.
