2012 Tribeca Film Festival Puts Movies by Chris Colfer and Seth Rogen on 'Spotlight'

Meanwhile, a movie starring Elijah Wood and Kristen Wiig is put in the 'Cinemania' section, and a Tony Bennett documentary is in the Special Screenings list.

After announcing its lineup for world narrative, documentary and out-of-competition viewpoint sections, 2012 Tribeca Film Festival reveals its official selections for Spotlight and Cinemania sections. The pics that are scheduled to have its Special Screenings are unveiled as well along with the ones for its sixth annual Tribeca/ESPN Sports Film Festival.

The Spotlight section lists 34 movies containing 22 narratives and 12 documentaries. Among the bunch are "" which stars and is written by "" actor , "" which has and sharing screen, and "" which has on the cast ensemble.

"The Spotlight program is a wonderful encapsulation of the originality and diversity of filmmaking that Tribeca seeks to highlight. We have films from emerging filmmakers as well as seasoned veterans, narratives that showcase stellar performances and insightful writing, and documentaries that challenge and inform their audiences," said Frederic Boyer, Artistic Director of the Festival.

In the Cinemania segment, there are seven big-screen movies listed. They include "" which stars the likes of , and . "Our selections demonstrate the imagination and resourcefulness of filmmakers from around the world who push the boundaries of genre in order to entertain, thrill, and engage," Frederic explained.

The Special Screening section offers two movies from the United States and one from the United Kingdom. One of them is "" that gives a look at as the music icon records his latest duets collection with stars like , , and the late jazz singer .

An 11th edition of the biggest movie festival in the U.S., 2012 TIFF will take place from April 18 to April 29 at locations around New York City. and 's romantic comedy "" has been chosen to be the opener. A total of 107 directors will be presenting their works, and feature films from 32 different countries are on this year's list.
