The 'Edge of Glory' singer surpassed the major milestone on Saturday, March 3, less than two years after taking over the title of the most-followed person on Twitter from Britney Spears.

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa proves that she deserves to be called the Queen of Twitter. Less than two years after taking over the most-followed person on the social networking site from Britney Spears, the Mother Monster broke another record as she beat Justin Bieber to be the first person to pass 20 million followers.

The "Marry the Night" singer blasted through the major milestone over the weekend. Her follower count climbed steadily ever since, and by Tuesday, March 6, it has reached 20,211,713. Back on February 9, she expressed her excitement to have 19 million followers. "19 Million Followers!!! HOLY HOOKER!!! *goes back to work*," so she tweeted at the time.

Falling right behind GaGa in terms of follower count was Bieber. The 18-year-old pop sensation has just over 18 million followers. Katy Perry, Shakira and Rihanna rounded up the top five with 15.7 million, 14.7 million and 14.5 million followers respectively. Spears, in the meantime, is the seventh most-followed person with 13.6 million followers.
