'The Walking Dead' Creator Dishes on Carl's Reaction to Fellow Survivor's Death
TV

While Carl will deal with the latest shocking twist in his own way, Rick and the other survivors are gearing up for something big as Randall escapes the barn.

AceShowbiz - After arguing over whether they will kill Randall, the survivors have to bury a man on "The Walking Dead". In a shocking twist, it's not the prisoner who was dead in the latest episode, but it's the man who had been fighting for Randall's life, [SPOILER ALERT!] Dale.

Dale was attacked by a zombie whom Carl baited out of the mud, before Daryl mercifully ended the old man's life. As he realized that he indirectly caused Dale's death, Rick's son will somehow be affected by this tragedy, but his reaction may be different to a child living in a normal world would be.

"How he deals with that is going to be very different than how someone would deal with that if they had not grown up in this world," creator Robert Kirkman explains what's to be seen from Carl. "We're going to see him grow and change over time and twist and turn into something that may not be recognizable as what we perceive a child to be, which is really kind of cool."

Losing the man, who had been fighting for their humanity, will send the group in a bad place as Kirkman teased, "Now, we don't know how they're going to deal with Randall and we don't know what they're going to do as Rick and Shane continue to butt heads."

He went on dishing, "They've lost a very important piece of their ensemble, and so they're not going to be able to make the same decisions they would have made and that's really going to affect the group as a whole. They are kind of in a bad place and we're going to have to deal with that."

In the next episode of "Walking Dead", the survivors will move forward to stay alive post-Dale's death. In some sneak peeks from the upcoming outing, Rick is seen preparing the group for something big as Randall escapes the barn and may endanger the whole survivors.

"Better Angels" will air Sunday, March 11 at 9/8c on AMC.
