The sixth video diary from the making of 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey' invites fans to visit more magnificent sets in various open fields in New Zealand.

AceShowbiz - Peter Jackson has once again given a special treat to "The Hobbit" fans. Taking to his Facebook page, the director shared a sixth video production diary from the set of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". The footage invites fans to explore the magnificent New Zealand set of the upcoming epic movie.

In the video, Jackson leads a tour to visit different parts of the country while his professional team shoot various scenes of "The Hobbit". It also gives a look at the cast and crew as they have fun and share jokes during the making of the novel-adapted film. At some points, Andy Serkis is seen working with his second unit team.

Back in December, Jackson also unveiled a production video that offers a look at how he and his crew move the whole production unit from the studio to an open field to recreate Middle Earth. The previous video highlights scenes in the Hobbiton village, where Elijah Wood hangs out with plenty of extras dressing in Hobbit costumes.

"The Hobbit" follows the adventure of Bilbo Baggins as he is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, the uncle of Frodo finds himself joining a company of dwarves led by Thorin Oakensheild.

Starring as Bilbo is Martin Freeman, while Richard Armitage plays warrior Thorin. Joining them in the cast ensemble are Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Christopher Lee, Evangeline Lilly and Luke Evans among others.

Warner Bros. Pictures will release the first "Hobbit" movie in the U.S. theaters on December 14. Its follow-up "The Hobbit: There and Back Again", meanwhile, will be unleashed nationwide on December 13, 2013.
