The Edie Britt depicter claims that Cherry was agitated when she talked to him during a rehearsal, before the creator of the ABC show hit her upside the head with his right hand.

AceShowbiz - Nicollette Sheridan has testified in "Desperate Housewives" trial on Thursday, March 1 as it was scheduled. After her attorney played a montage of Edie Britt's scenes on the show, the former star of the ABC drama series took the witness stand to detail how she was hit in the head by creator Marc Cherry.
With her playing Cherry and co-counsel Patrick Maloney playing the actress, Sheridan reenacted the incident taking place on the set of "Housewives". The Edie depicter recalled that it began when she approached the writer during a rehearsal to ask him to write a funny exit line for her character. "He got agitated and annoyed and didn't respond," she claimed.
After the rehearsal, Sheridan talked to Cherry again, but "he got agitated." They then moved to a side area away from others, and Cherry allegedly told her, "What is it you want?" The actress said she tried to explain her request again but she was cut off.
"Mr. Cherry approached me from the left-hand side and hit me upside the head," Sheridan went on testifying. Sheridan said Cherry struck her with an open-palm right hand and "a hard hit" that caused her to jerk back. She then yelled at him, "You hit me in the head! That is not OK. That is not OK."
"I'm not accustomed to being hit," Sheridan told the court. "It was unfathomable to me that I had just been hit by my boss. It was demeaning; it was humiliating." She also said that she told the incident to her co-star Neal McDonough. "Neal said if I saw him I would have hit him back," she revealed.
Sheridan said Cherry then apologized to her in her trailer, but when she asked him why he did that thing to her, he refused to explain it. She then shot her scene with new dialogue that Cherry had written, claiming she returned to the set because "I pride myself on being a professional. I wasn't going to let everybody else down."
The actress believed that the incident led Cherry to kill off Edie, while she was previously assured at the beginning of the series' fourth season that her character was not going to die.
A number of the series' former writers are set to testify for Sheridan, who is seeking $6 million in compensation in the battery and wrongful termination lawsuit. "Housewives" stars namely Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and James Denton, meanwhile, will testify for Cherry and ABC.
