Adele Hits 22nd Week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 200

The 'Rumour Has It' singer continues to extend her long reign on the U.S. album chart by moving 297,000 copies of '21'.

AceShowbiz - Adele is still unmovable from the first spot on Billboard Hot 200. The British pop sensation easily wins the race to the top spot by shifting another 297,000 copies with her studio album "21". It marks her 22nd non-consecutive week at the penthouse of the chart.

It becomes the longest No. 1 run since Prince & the Revolution's 1984 "Purple Rain" soundtrack hit 24 weeks at No. 1. Also, it marks ninth consecutive week at No. 1 for "21", which is the longest one since the "Titanic" soundtrack clocked a 14 straight weeks at the top spot in 1998.

Whitney Houston also holds her last week's position at No. 2 with her "Greatest Hits" compilation (174,000). She occupies two more spots by sitting at No. 6 with "The Bodyguard" soundtrack (47,000) and securing No. 9 with her eponymous debut (30,000). She becomes the first female artist who places three albums in the top 10 at the same time.

The highest new entry for this week is indie pop Fun. who land at No. 3 with their second studio album "Some Nights" (70,000). Rapper Tyga bows at No. 4 with his latest effort "Careless World: Rise of the Last King" (61,000), and Hip-Hop group Chiddy Bang enter the chart at No. 8 with their new CD "Breakfast" (31,000).
