Rapper Jim Jones Claims Innocence After Second Arrest in a Week

After Jones was taken into police custody for driving on a suspended license, his representative claims that the 'We Fly High' rapper got in the driver's seat at the request of a police officer.

AceShowbiz - Jim Jones has got into a trouble with the law for the second time in a week. Just three days after getting himself arrested for sparking a fight at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, the 35-year-old rapper was arrested in New York City for driving on a suspended license. This time around, however, he is adamant he's not at fault.

Through his representative, the "We Fly High" MC told TMZ, "Jim does not have a suspended license." He additionally claimed that he originally sat in the passenger seat of the car. He only got in the driver's seat after his driver stopped at a store to pick a few things up, and he was told by cops to move the car.

According to New York Daily News, Jones was pulled over by police on W. 125th St. near Amsterdam Ave., in front of the Grant Houses in Harlem. After the cops learned about his suspended license, he was taken into custody and issued a desk appearance ticket. He was released shortly after 3:20 P.M., and by 6:45 P.M., he tweeted, "Back on these streets #vampin I love my city."

The Monday, February 27 arrest came after Jones was maced and arrested after getting involved in a casino brawl. The fight itself reportedly took place around 2 A.M. in the foyer of the MGM Grand casino after a party hosted by P. Diddy. The rapper was charged with resisting arrest and breach of peace after allegedly assaulting an officer, while four others faced charges including inciting to riot.
