Movie

The behind-the-scene picture sees Dench examining her laptop while director Sam Mendes looks over her shoulder and cinematographer Roger Deakins shoots her from behind his camera.

AceShowbiz - A first photo of Judi Dench as M in "Skyfall" has been revealed. Making its way out via James Bond official Facebook account on Tuesday, February 21, the fresh photo gives a look at the short-haired veteran actress in a behind-the-scene shoot with director Sam Mendes and cinematographer Roger Deakins.

In the picture, the 77-year-old actress is seen analyzing something on her Sony VAIO laptop while Mendes looks over her shoulder with his hand holding a cup of coffee. Behind her, Deakins is featured working behind his camera to shoot her.

Along with the picture, director Mendes posted a short note that reads, "The roots of my doing this Bond movie start way before anybody approached me because, like everyone else, I have my own personal relationship with Bond which began when I was I suppose about nine or ten years old." He added, "I've always been a fan of the movies."

Meanwhile, it has been announced that on Wednesday, February 22, an exclusive "Skyfall" videoblog from Mendes will be released online. According to the film's Facebook page, the footage will include a quote from Mendes saying, "I've made six movies and this is the first time I've shot in this country [England], which is an extraordinary thing. I feel like the American years were my apprenticeship for doing a Bond movie!"

"Skyfall" has already done its production in several spots in England, including Canary Wharf and Charing Cross, Bognor Regis and Pinewood Studios. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as 007. In this 23rd Bond movie, his loyalty to M is tested as M's past comes back to haunt her. When MI6 comes under attack, Bond must track down and destroy the threat no matter how personal the cost is.

Craig is also joined by a set of Oscar winners and nominees like Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes. Other stars joining the cast ensemble include Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw and Ola Rapace.

Columbia Pictures has set November 9 as the day when "Skyfall" will open wide in the U.S. theaters.
