Ashley Hebert Slams Courtney for Faux Wedding Rip-Off and Stolen Vows
Ashley Hebert is not impressed by the way Courtney Robertson tried to seduce Ben Flajnik in the latest episode of "The Bachelor". The fiancee of J.P. Rosenbaum claims that the fake wedding set by Courtney during her hometown date with Ben was taken from an act during her "The Bachelorette" stint.
"First of all, I do have to say that Courtney's ceremony was a little bit of a rip-off idea - because we did that on my season, with William," Ashley tells E! Online. She also notices that Courtney's wedding vows were stolen from "Sex and the City" series, saying, "And she stole her vows from 'Sex and the City'!".
In the February 20 outing of "Bachelor", Courtney declared in front of Ben during the faux wedding, "I am looking for love. Real love. Passionate, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love."
For comparison, Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw said in an episode of the Michael Patrick King-created show, "I am someone who is looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other-love."
In addition to criticizing the staged wedding and the stolen vows, Ashley implies that Courtney might be faking it about her feelings for Ben. "I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt! But with this ceremony that she puts on for Ben, I'm trying to figure out if she's just trying to find a sweet way to tell him that she loves him, or if she's just trying to move on to the next round," the former "Bachelorette" star gushes. "Is this forced? Is this real? I'm having a really hard time figuring it out."
Watching Courtney's controversial actions to approach Ben, Ashley can't deny that it would enrage other girls. She explains, "If I were the other girls and I was watching this back, I would be so upset. He pretty much got married to Courtney, pretty much had sex with her when they went skinny-dipping. You know, it's like, what a rip-off for the other girls. Especially if he doesn't end up with Courtney!"
Judging from what's seen on the show, Ashley predicts that Ben would pick Courtney as his future bride in the finale. "You can see it in his face, 'This is it.' And he believes her," she reasons before adding, "After knowing Ben, I think he will choose Courtney."
After the hometown dates, Ben narrowed the girls on "Bachelor" to three by sending home Kacie B. Defending his decision to eliminate the woman who had been dubbed a frontrunner, the winemaker has stated, "I still had feelings for her, but I did make a promise to her father that if I didn't see it going much further that I would end it sooner than later to not hurt her as much. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt Kacie, but ultimately it was the right decision, as hard as it was."
