Gushing that landing a role in the Tarsem Singh movie is her biggest achievement, Collins shares that she was intially 'angry' when she was first offered the part since she thought it was only a joke.

AceShowbiz - Lily Collins admitted that securing the role of Snow White in Tarsem Singh's "Mirror Mirror" was one of her biggest achievements in acting. The 22-year-old actress confessed that at first she couldn't even believe she was chosen for the part, and thought that she fell victim to a prank when she was offered the coveted role.

In a recent interview with Hello magazine, Collins said that she was initially "angry" when she got a phone call asking her to portray Princess Snow White, which she dubbed as the biggest role she's ever had. "It was April Fool's Day, so when I got to the phone call I thought someone was playing a prank on me," she recalled.

"I was quite angry and thought, 'If this is someone's idea of a joke, it's not funny'," she continued on. Nonetheless, after she discovered that the offer was real, the daughter of rock legend Phil Collins admitted that she became overwhelmed with emotion. "But then, when I realized it was true, I burst into tears and started screaming," she said. "It's a role of a lifetime!"

During the chat, Collins also shared her experience in shooting the fairytale movie that required her to wear various fabulous costumes. The 22-year-old starlet confessed that she hated wearing those outfits, especially because they were very heavy and difficult to wear. "I'm loving everything about this film but wearing the costumes," she said.

"Don't get me wrong, they're amazing costumes, the details and colors are absolutely phenomenal and they definitely make me feel like a princess, but they are also very heavy and quite difficult to wear," the Surrey-born beauty added. "It's hard to eat wearing the corsets. And as for dancing, running, doing stunts and having sword fights...Well, it all adds to the challenge."

Asked how she felt to star opposite big name like Julia Roberts, Collins gushed, "It's a dream come true to be acting with Julia." She added, "And it's quite interesting too, because in the beginning of the film I'm supposed to be intimidated by her character and while we were filming she'd be really mean to me."

"Then when the director would yell cut, she'd come straight over to me and say, 'I'm so sorry. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Are you OK?' She's the sweetest woman," Collins shared. "Meanwhile, I'm staring at her and thinking, 'Oh my gosh, this is Julia Roberts. Is this really happening?' "

"Mirror Mirror" is a retelling of one of the most beloved fables of all time. The film will eschew the traditional story in favor of a more modern tale full of comedy and adventure. After her evil stepmother kills her father and destroys the kingdom, Snow White bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarves to reclaim what is rightly hers.

The family movie, which also stars Armie Hammer, Nathan Lane, Sean Bean and Robert Emms, is set to arrive in the U.S. theaters on March 30.
